Summer Scarves

Jessica Alba (Pinterest)
(Pinterest)
Kendi (Kendi Everyday)
Jackie O (Pinterest)
I know what you're thinking, "It's HOT outside, why scarves now!?" Summer scarves are great for chilly restaurants, theaters and airports. They add a little something extra to a simple t and jeans look (like Kendi) or a bit of color contrast (like Jessica Alba). I also love using scares to tie my hair back, Jackie O style. Whichever way you choose to use your scarf, you can't go wrong!

Etsy Finds:

Large silk scarf from Mmhm
Large flower print scarf from Btown Pickers
Large bold colored scarf from Totally Scarves - be sure to check their site for other great options!
Set of 3 vintage scarves from Know I tAll Grrrl

Drop Waist Dresses

(Lee Oliveira)
(Chanel)

The drop waist dress trend is a fantastic hat tip to the roaring 20's. It's a style anyone can wear and has a casual chic look to it making it great for both day and night. With The Great Gatsby remake coming up this holiday season, I'm hoping to see more 20's trends make a comeback!

Lately ....

The back of my new Parker dress
My accidentally patriotic pugs on the 4th of July
Listening to our new acoustic Ryan Adam vinyl box set
Tying my hair up into a messy bun and a turban scarf
These are just some of the things that have been making me smile lately. Having Wednesday off for the holiday made this week feel like it's had two Mondays and two Fridays - thus making the week feel as if it's been going on forever! Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to the weekend. I hope everyone has a fabulous one!

Pajama Style

(Fashion is Full of Chic)
(Hanneli)
(Altamira)

I am not one to advocate gym clothes outside the gym, or sweatpants as anything more than for cleaning up the house in, but there is something so endearing to me about vintage pajamas as more than just sleepwear. The ladies above prove these tops can look incredibly stylish - no one will judge you for walking out of the house in one of these, trust me.

Etsy Finds:

Vintage white and navy gold button blouse from Promise To Repeat
Striped pajama top from MILK TEETHS
Long sleeved striped pajama top from Bot Vintage
Bright pink pajama style top from Vonlenska Vintage

Accessorize: Monogram Necklace

Both images via Atlantic-Pacific
My friend's gorgeous layering first displayed on Then Life Gave Me Lemons
If you're anything like me, you've been eyeing those gorgeous Max and Chloe monogram necklaces ... but just haven't been able to pull the trigger. I love how Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific and my good friend, Ashley, use them as just one piece in a larger necklace layering party! Once again, Etsy comes to the rescue with some adorable options - for a more manageable price point!

Etsy Finds:

1 inch personalized necklace from monoArtian
Sterling silver 18k gold plated monogram necklace from Personalized Necklace

(The Design Daredevil)
(Garden & Gun)
(Design Sponge)
I have seen bar carts popping up on everyone's wish lists lately. Maybe it's the Mad Men influence or simply the desire to display the fantastic glassware and bottles that are involved in creating the perfect cocktail. Whatever the reason, I have caught the bug and have been craving one of my own. Here are some sleek options via Etsy!

Mid century bar cart from Centaur123
Brass wine cart from French Metro Antiques
Arko bar cart from Jeff Studio
